FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Customers should know that my pricing is straightforward, transparent, and designed to be fair for the work completed. My standard rate is $75 per hour, and I provide clear, itemized estimates so you know exactly what you’re paying for, whether it’s labor, materials, or supplies. For larger projects, I also offer a built-in discount: after 24 hours of work are completed, I discount one hour for every four hours worked moving forward. This way, customers benefit from savings on extended projects while still receiving the same level of quality and attention to detail. I believe in being upfront about costs with no hidden fees or surprises, and I make sure to explain all options so you can choose the approach that best fits your budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Tony’s Handyman Service, we understand that inviting someone to work on your home is a matter of trust, and our process is designed to give every customer peace of mind from the very beginning. We start by having a thorough conversation about your project, whether it’s a minor repair, a larger renovation, or ongoing maintenance. During this stage, we take the time to understand your goals, budget, and timeline so we can recommend the best solutions tailored specifically to your needs. Once we have a clear picture, we provide an honest, transparent estimate that breaks down the cost of labor, materials, and any additional details so there are never any hidden surprises. When the estimate is approved, we move on to scheduling the work at a time that is convenient for you, and we confirm all project details so you know exactly what to expect before we begin. As we carry out the work, we treat your home with respect, keep the space clean and safe, and communicate openly throughout the process to ensure you’re always informed of progress. Our commitment to craftsmanship means that every task, whether large or small, is handled with care, attention to detail, and pride in a job well done. When the project is complete, we walk through the finished work with you to make sure it meets your expectations and address any final touches you’d like to see. Even after the job is done, we make ourselves available for future projects, advice, or follow-up needs because we value long-term relationships built on reliability, professionalism, and trust. Our goal is not only to deliver results you’ll be happy with today, but also to become the handyman service you rely on for years to come.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background combines years of hands-on handyman work with formal trade experience through my time in the union. I’ve worked as a member of a local trade union, where I received structured training in construction practices, safety standards, and the professional use of tools and materials. That experience gave me exposure to larger-scale projects, strict quality standards, and the importance of working efficiently as part of a skilled team. Alongside my union training, I’ve built years of practical, real-world experience in home improvement and repair, covering carpentry, painting, flooring, masonry, landscaping, plumbing basics, and general maintenance. This combination of union-based training and independent project work has allowed me to develop not only technical skills but also a strong focus on communication, problem-solving, and customer satisfaction. I continue to stay updated on new products, building materials, and techniques so I can provide my customers with the best solutions. With my union background, hands-on experience, and commitment to quality craftsmanship, I bring both professionalism and skill to every project I take on.
