I met Jeet Bhatia in 2005, when he was the CEO of Harper International. Jeet recruited me from a career in traditional chemical process industries design to join Harper International, a high-temperature thermal equipment manufacturer based in Buffalo, New York. Jeet´s vision was to transition Harper International from an OEM equipment manufacturer to a leader in the process design of high temperature thermal processes for advanced materials. The market strategy was to reposition the company to be a complete process provider, building systems around their legacy thermal equipment manufacturing capabilities. I had the pleasure of working with Jeet´s leadership from 2005 through 2008, a small portion of his 14 years of leadership at Harper International. Jeet clearly understands that in order to transform a company profile and culture, it is critical to develop the employee. At Harper, Jeet passionately pursued recruiting, constantly evaluating the employee profile and considering what skill sets where needed. More than any other person that I have met in my career, Jeet has a gift for painting a strong strategic vision of a business and making the investment in mentorship and human capital to develop the talent needed for the company to meet its strategic objectives. The evolution of Harper International from an OEM equipment manufacturer to a leading process design group focusing on advance materials is the legacy of Jeet´s years of dedicated leadership. In addition to the benefits of his mentorship and personal skill, Jeet is also keenly analytical of a business´ strengths and weakness; further, he does not hesitate to put plans into action, At Harper, he was able to use these insights to set a number of critical midterm goals for the company to meet its strategic plans. When I think of Jeet, a number of words come to mind. One is leadership. Leaders are not high-level individuals who play on the sidelines of the game. Jeet is 100% in the game and 100% committed. He will lead you and your team to your goal. Success is another word. I have known him for years now. I met him first when I began working as an engineer. His contribution was more than valuable. Both my company and his company were greatly successful. Integrity is another word that comes to mind. The way Jeet does business and work is always with a high level of consideration, confidence and integrity. Jeet will show you how to maximize the return from each investment and endeavor and will teach you how to apply it again and again. Jeet is also a terrific mentor. He does not only work with you, he shows you how grapple with things in every kind of situation. He will make sure you can apply his methods in order to make lasting your business and your business model. He will also connect you to his strong network, and before you even notice, you will become part of his world and might have great chance to become his friend too. You can be 25, 45 or 65 years old, working with Jeet on your team, as a Client or as a Customer will change your way of seeing and doing business. Hes a game changer. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am flexible and not here to make a lot if money. I changed the process and business plans for two product lines and got paid $4000 a day, but I will do and want to do this for any amount. If it grabs my interest and I can make a difference, then I'll take it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All kinds. I attend conference boards, covey training, and attend seminars.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
