Every semester we look forward to promoting the benefits of chess in the lives of our students and seeing them broaden their horizons, so we hope you will sign up soon! From beginners to intermediate and advanced players, students will learn how to play, think, and strategize like a chess player and utilize mathematical skills, critical thinking, long term planning, reading skills, memory, and sportsmanship. We know that your child’s confidence is reinforced by success at every level and in a multitude of disciplines. Our students are encouraged to get out of their comfort zone with competition in the chess arena at all levels, yet sportsmanship and camaraderie are always our most highly prized attributes.
As you have come to expect from ICA, we pride ourselves on our small class sizes (6:1 ratio), personalized attention and our fun and supportive online environment. In small classrooms we give individualized attention and assign homework based on material learned. In this way our students continue to challenge themselves, and solve puzzles outside the classroom.
