Classes are tailored to students' family lives, giving them a relevant language repertoire. The course has been used by students who are non-verbal and autistic. Leah is great. She is flexible and accommodating to our busy, hectic lifestyle and our 20-y/o nonvocal autistic son's quirky behaviors. She patiently demonstrates the signs, implements them in the discussion/conversation/lesson quite well, and explains many of the signing actions, which makes using them more intuitive. We are learning so much, and are super glad we found Leah on Thumbtack.

I charge $50 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Learning a new language can be a challenge. The instructor guides students through the process of learning American Sign Language.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took courses at the Sign Language Center in Manhattan from Deaf instructors. I began teaching ASL to autistic and non-verbal students soon after. I have been teaching non-verbal and autistic student for almost 2 years.
