About
Thumbtack doesn't make sure that each license can be properly verified.
Home inspectors in the state of New Jersey need to be licensed. Check to see that your inspector is properly licensed. If they are licensed in the state of New Jersey they are also required to have insurance.
My license number is 24GI00091100. Licenses need to be renewed and verified via the state every two years.
My current home inspection license is good up until 4/30/2025.
My radon measurement license is valid thru June of 2024.
A great deal of my works comes from prior customers referring me to their friends and family.
I love the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people from all walks of life.

Mike was a pleasure to work with! He arrived early, conducted a thorough inspection, and described the potential issues in the home and identified critical components that needed to be addressed. The report was delivered within 1 business day.

Mike did a great job. Would not hesitate to recommend him. Our inspection report was thorough, comprehensive and detailed with excellent quality photos. Turnaround time was excellent. At first glance, Mike did not appear to be competitive with other quotes, but we then realized his quote INCLUDED termite and radon testing, while the others did not. Made his fee very competitive. Super nice guy too.

Mike from Record Home Inspections was very professional, approachable and knowledgeable. He took his time with the inspection and allowed for questions from beginning to end. I told him my girlfriend and I were first time home buyers and he shared many helpful tips on how to maintain the property. He pointed out flaws my untrained eye would have missed and was a real advocate for us. A few of the things he pointed out in his report saved us a good chunk of change as the seller credited us. His report was clear, straight forward and featured colored photos of everything he inspected and found flaws with. I would highly recommend him.

Was very clear on what was to be done and set expectations (as well as service and fee).. Was present prior to the agreed time. Took many pictures and gave candid observation and comments. The inspection report was sent via email within 3 days (for us, 2 days after the inspection date). It outlined issues and concerns as well as recommendation for myself (if the deal will be closed). Was very courteous, polite, and responded back to even after the inspection date on his report. Thank you

Mike was very flexible during the whole inspection process. He accommodated all 5 tenants and actually came back to inspect a "hard to get to" tenant.
Having worked with inspectors before, I can easily say that Mike went above and beyond to ensure that he captured all defects in his report. He also summarized the defects in the beginning of the report. The quality of the work was beyond compare. Thanks Mike!!!!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is based on a combination of interior square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with is new customer is helping them access their needs; do they need to have a property scan for any possible oil tanks, do they need to have a septic system inspected, etc.
I recommend that these items be addressed BEFORE the home inspection begins to avoid a possible major obstacle / issue.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Twenty hours of continuing education per year are required to maintain your home inspection license in N.J.
This is about equal to one semester at most colleges.
I am currently serving as the education director for the Garden State ASHI chapter of home inspectors.
