I hired Cookin' Jamaican to cater my wife's birthday party. I told Elsa my budget and dietary restrictions and in a short turn around she provided me with tons of great options for food and made a feast for my guests. She was on time with delivery, provided exactly what was requested (and even stuck around for a bit and didn't complain when i was running late to pick up the food!) Beyond the professional conduct she showed me, and timelines, the food was fantastic. A huge hit. Salmon was perfect and flavorful and i heard multiple times that the jerk chicken was some of the best they've tasted. At the end of the party it was a rush on the buffet table to see who could take home some leftovers. Thanks again!

I secured Elsa Cooking Jamaican for an LBGT community event on October 26. It was a last minute request. Elsa handled it with grace and professionalism. Everyone love her food and service. I secured her for another event, which fell through and had to be postponed due to a visit from our President Barack Obama. Elsa graciously contacted a local shelter and donated the food on our behalf, delivered it and requested the letter of donation for our company. She handled everything. Finally, she catered the rally that was postponed. There was not a thing left. The community loved the food. I plan to use Elsa for all of our catering needs, she cooks 7 different types of cuisines. She is one stop shop for great catered events.

I recently hired Cookin' Jamaican to cater a party I planned in a weeks time. Working with Elsa was an absolute pleasure. She was patient, professional and readily available when I had any questions. And the food....was fantastic!! All my guests were asking for seconds and thirds until we ran out. I was definitely use Cookin' Jamaican to cater future events. Thanks Elsa!!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I would like to be able to discuss the price and negotiate if necessary. I either quote per person or give a bulk fee but usually with a huge discount. If you aren't satisfied with the pricing then please talk to me and I will do something that we are both satisfied with.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ideally, I like to spend a few minutes to get to know the client or organization that I would be catering for and what they are looking for. I also share a little about myself and experience. The next step is to go into more detail planning e.g. their theme, menu, quantities, some clients ask for a meeting to sample or tasting etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My experience comes from years of cooking for friends and family. I have traveled extensively to over 47 Countries and I have lived in 5 different Countries. Being a foodie I have tried many cuisines and I have collected many many recipes. I have tried some of these recipes and would even say I have perfected some of them. I have a background in Public Health and Health Education so I am quite versed in food safety as well.
