Overall the service was done, except a few details that were concerning: 1. They turned on the water pump without inspecting for winterization plugs. This caused some of the plugs to explode outward from the pressure. After, they then mentioned that there was something wrong with the pump not remaining on, which I then mentioned it was due to the plugs still being in. Once the plugs were removed it operated fine. The simple act of engaging the water pump while the plugs were still on could have caused harm to my system. Thankfully it did not but was concerning that it happened at all. 2. I have spring loaded anchors that twist to become flush with the concrete that are used to tension the pool cover to. I had to ask them to be twisted downward as that wasn’t part of the service which was surprising. 3. Installing railing hardware wasn’t apart of the service so if you have railings that get removed for the winter they will not place them back on with their pool opening service. My railings obstruct the pool cover when on which is why they get removed for the winter. I’ve had my pool for several years and had done several pool openings with thumbtack hires who have done all these things at the same price point. Overall, more transparency in exactly what’s provided in the pool opening service would have been appreciated so I would’ve had the knowledge to shop around some more to find someone that fit the needs of my pool.

I’m sorry to hear the service didn’t meet your expectations, and I’d like to clear up a few points: Winterization Plugs: Our standard pool opening service includes removing the cover and starting up the pump system as mentioned before the appointment Still, once the issue was noticed, we addressed it right away and confirmed everything was working fine afterward. Anchors: We did twist down your spring-loaded anchors as part of our process after removing the cover. Pool Cover: After taking off the cover, we folded and stored it neatly for you — which we always try to do as a courtesy. Rails: Reinstalling handrails or ladders isn’t included in our base opening service, as setups vary. However, we are always happy to offer it as an add-on service when requested in advance.
