The feeling I get when a new client emails, texts, or calls the day after we have worked together reporting what she is wearing to work and how amazing she feels, is the most rewarding feeling and is what I enjoy most about being an image consultant.

Ashley was incredibly helpful! She did a great job finding clothes that matched my style, and I love the clothes that I bought. She got us into Banana Republic before the store even opened and had a great selection of clothes ready to start trying on. She knows her stuff, is a professional, and was fun to hang out with for hours while trying on clothes!

Ashley's process begins with an overview of her services and with exercizes and communications designed to help her get to know who the client is. I forces the client to think about what they want to achieve. Step 2 is a visit by Ashley to the clients closet. Kind of stressful but handled well by Ashley as she exuded confidence that all would be fine in the end.The closet visit is key because we lean what work and what doesn't and why. After the closet visit, Ashley preshops at various stores. Shopping day happens when you meet Ashley at the stores and begin trying things on. She is open to experimenting with looks and has lots of product knowledge. Ashley brings loads of insight into what alteration can take a jacket from Blah to beautiful.She has good judgement .I am a retired attorney who still works part time. I hope to branch into some meaningful volunteer work as well. Thanks to Ashley, I feel ready to accept the challenges of my new life. She is warm and professional. I think I may need to go back to the well come Fall.

I hired Ashley to style me for my wedding occasions (Bridal shower and Engagement photo shoot). After scouring the racks on my own, I realized I needed to enlist the help of a professional! I was skeptical that she would be able to find something that I couldn’t as I think I am good at styling myself for day to day. Boy was I wrong! I loved working with Ashley and can’t imagine going to these events not styled by her! She shopped ahead of time for me so shopping was stress free! I went right to the dressing room where everything was laid out! I know this is part of her normal personal shopping package, but he experience made me feel so special! I couldn’t believe what she had picked! It was like she was in my head and knew my style to a T! I couldn’t believe she could pick things that were so ‘me’ after just a quick hour consultation. At the end of the shopping day I was left with having to choose what I wanted to buy because I liked so many of the options! I will definitely be hiring Ashley again for my next event!

I contacted Ashley after a perfect storm of life events - I had my second child and got a big promotion at work. My wardrobe consisted of things 100% Target and H&M - definitely not appropriate for my new role (or my post-baby body!) Ashley came over for a conversation before our shopping experience. She asked really insightful questions about my lifestyle. She wanted to know what my work environment was like, what my commute was like, whether or not I needed a travel friendly wardrobe, what I did on weekends, if my husband and I did "date nights". It was obvious from that conversation that she was committed to a wardrobe that worked with my lifestyle, and not against it. On shopping day, I would say I liked 95% of what she pulled for me, and the only reason I said "no" to the last 5% was that I had liked so much I'd already hit my budget! She did a fantastic job, and not only do I have a wardrobe that fits my job and lifestyle, I have a wardrobe that has really upped my self-confidence, and that's worth a million bucks!

From the first point of communication I felt very comfortable working with Ashley. Ashley has a professional manner with a twist of casual fun when working. When we first met we discussed my desire for wanting to revamp my wardrobe. As I expressed my goals Ashley listened intently. She assured me that together we would energize my wardrobe and that I would once again enjoy dressing for any activity or event. Our next step was the Closet Audit. As we went through my entire wardrobe Ashley brought to light what silhouettes best suited my shape/frame. From there we were able to decide which pieces I should keep and those I should donate. The Closet Audit was eye opening and a lot of fun. We made a list of what I needed to replenish my closet as well as items for a planned vacation and upcoming wedding. This step made me realize that I was definitely in need of a wardrobe revamp and that Ashley was the one to get me back on track. On to shopping!!! Ashley pre shopped (big time saver) and I met her later to view and try on her selections. Wow! What a great time! Ashley was able to guide me through each item and how their silhouette enhanced my figure. She showed me how all of the pieces could be interchanged to make several looks and how to blend them with my existing wardrobe. It was so enjoyable and stress free. Ashley made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I had so many choices it was difficult to eliminate for my final purchase. It was a joy to shop with her! It felt effortless to rebuild my spring/summer wardrobe. We have already planned our next outing which will help to rebuild my fall/winter clothing. When I look into my closet I no longer get frustrated about what to wear and then walk out of the house feeling uncomfortable with my choice. I now have so many options it is exciting to dress for any activity or event. From outfit to shoes to accessories to bags I feel polished and put together...even running errands. Ashley was able to help me rebuild and recreate a wardrobe that I love and feel comfortable and confident wearing. I cannot wait until our next outing!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained by the Studio for Image Professionals and I continually take trainings in my profession and stay up to date on current trends.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Fashion and styling chose me! Ever since I was young I knew this was something I wanted to do. More recently, I made the decision to create Schafer Image Consulting to fulfill my desire to develop a career that combined my love of fashion and my commitment to educate women about their wardrobe.
