I'm Jon Wiederhorn, the founder of Easy Guitar NJ. I’m convinced that learning guitar shouldn’t be frustrating and that students should learn at a pace that’s inspiring, not overwhelming.
Whether you’ve never picked up the instrument or know the basics but have gotten stuck in a rut, I can put you on the path of playing guitar the way you’ve always dreamed of playing it.
I focus on training as well as teaching so as you learn new techniques and patterns, you’ll learn to play them the right way so you don’t develop bad habits that slow your progress.
And unlike teachers who act like drill sergeants and intimidate students, I treat each student as an individual and help them progress at a level that’s comfortable, whether they want to play folk, pop, alternative or metal.

Jon was an excellent instructor for my daughter, who was a bit undecided as to whether she wanted to take guitarlessons or not. I highly recommend Jon as he is very professional and responsive. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Every guitarist has his/her aspirations. I work one-on-one with players to meet their goals with as little frustration as possible, so they don't feel overwhelmed. After finding out what guitarists need help with, I provide tips and tricks, guiding them on what will help them improve quickly, and what will stall their progress. Every player has a different path to success. Let me help you find yours.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played rock guitar for decades, performed at NY clubs with various bands, written books and magazine articles about guitar playing, and through my experience, cultivated a teaching method that's fun and effective for beginners.
