About
Many of us are looking for a better way – to maximize our potential, improve our physical fitness, our mental and emotional strength. Many of us would also like to have the self-confidence and the ability to protect ourselves and our families as peaceful people in a sometimes threatening world.
If you are interested in learning martial arts and self-defense, while developing to your full potential in a fun and positive environment, the Martial Way could be for you.
With the Martial Way, you will learn practical self-defense using the principles of Aikido as the core foundation. Aikido is a Japanese martial art that uses a person’s weight, energy and momentum – along with take-downs, joint locks and pins – to neutralize the attack, and disarm and control the attacker. We combine the tradition and culture of an established martial art with contemporary situations and attacks of today to provide you with a fun and effective way to become more confident and self-assured.
Aikido is not just a martial art….it is a martial WAY. While you are learning techniques and methods to counter an opponent’s attack, you are also developing self-awareness, mental and physical fitness, and confidence during periods of stress and intensity when they are most needed. It is healthy exercise and terrific training for adults and children 8 and up, and for families and individuals of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds.

I originally came from Poland and have been practicing martial arts since I got to America in 1991. However, I was 10 years old when I began my training. I have a unique perspective since I am able to compare the knowledge of the staff that I have the opportunity to work with in the US to those who I worked with in Poland.Instructors at Martial Way School will provide you with not only training in the basic techniques and the ability to apply that knowledge to real life situations, but also will teach you how to defend yourself from intimidation, provide stress relief, and build your self esteem. They will focus on all aspects of your life allowing for impressive personal growth that you can transfer into work, home, and school environments. Its a great place for adults to train and fun for kids as well. Would highly recommend.

Thanks Pawel. There is some thing about facing adversity with calm and purposeful resolve that builds character and skill, and in other aspects of life. Many of our students feel like they are calmer and handle stress better, and I love the thought about personal growth. This is a place to do it!

I've started back in 2015, and ever since I started training at this dojo I've met and learned with: friendly teachers and other students willing to learn. Through each class I've went and learned with beginner-level students, the teachers were very effective in their teaching style. They didn't teach every single student the same thing and move on outside of their comfort zone, but instead they divided the class's members into different groups during class and offer different things (techniques) to learn and/or improve on during then (and they still do this today). The system in which the teachers made makes the teaching style more malleable for those who are very experience and for those who are yet to come and learn.

Dave Maturo, the new (last year) co-owner of the dojo has done a marvelous job of renovating. Come in and take a peek. The atmosphere is friendly and the instructional staff top-notch. Training here will boost physical fitness, and self-confidence from knowing you can defend yourself.

The Martial Way dojo is a great place for young people to learn the Art of Aikido. We first enrolled our son, Shawn, in aikido, because it is the Martial Art focused on defensive controlled movements, and not on aggressive attacks. Shawn has ADHD with impulsivity and struggled with self control. Aikido helped Shawn gain self confidence as well as self awareness. With group and individual instruction, Sensei Sam, and his instructors have created an inspiring environment for young people to grow and learn.

Thank you so much Catie! The Martial Way is a great place for kids to become confident young adults. We are grateful to have you all here.
