Candice at Duchess Florals did all of the floral arrangements, boutonnieres, and bouquets for my wedding on May 16, 2015 at Sayen House and Gardens in Hamilton, NJ. Candice was fantastic to work with, from first contact on Thumbtack, to finished product. During our first meeting, she really listened to what I wanted, took notes, and was more than happy to go over my Pinterest posts about flowers. She was very knowledgeable about what was in season, what would look good together, and even gave me suggestions of more budget-friendly options that would look similar to some of the more expensive flowers I liked! When coming to make the final payment, Candice explained some of the flowers I liked had been unavailable because of variations in growing season, and went over more options with me, even showing me pictures so I could choose what I liked. I really appreciated this. It would have been easier for her not to mention it, or to change it herself, but I really appreciated being involved in the process, and the care she put in to making sure everything was perfect! Candice went out of her way to visit my venue before the event to help her plan the arrangements. She was right on time with the delivery the day of the wedding, not only delivering our centerpieces to the venue, but also delivering our bouquets right to our hotel so we could start taking pictures. It was very warm the day of our wedding, so she was thoughtful enough to wait inside the venue to put our ceremony arrangements outside at the last minute so they wouldn't wilt. Candice added special touches that were a wonderful surprise the day of the wedding. My husbands boutonniere had an extra touch of color to differentiate him from the groomsmen. She also added small jars with succulents that she had left over from our bouquets that added a lovely touch of decoration to the bar and some of the small areas of our venue. I had provided vases for the wedding, and for my own bouquet. Candice added a lovely bow with an adorable wood-burned charm with our initials on it and the date, and had the same charm on our flower girl basket. Its a lovely keepsake we will treasure! I would highly recommend Candice and Duchess Florals for any wedding or special event. Candice was a pleasure to work with, and I am 100% satisfied with the results!

Candice was a pleasure to work with from day one. She listened to every request, concern and idea we had. She gave amazing advice as well as 150% of her effort with every meeting, email, phone call and last but not least my INCREDIBLE flowers. She took my vision and made it become real. No one could stop talking about how amazing our centerpieces were. If you are looking for a florist DO NOT look any further. A million and one thank yous Candice!

Candice was spectacular! Not only did she provide expertise on flowers and seasonal choices, but was completely flexible the whole way through. She communicated quickly and clearly and organized everything for the day down to every detail. She really put my mind at ease and made my day so wonderful. Our bouquets, boutonierres, corsages and outdoor arrangements were beautiful!

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Professional Floral Design Certification from The FlowerSchool New York. I take at least one class per quarter to keep my skills fresh.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved flowers and decorating with flowers. Several years ago, I was having Thanksgiving at my home. I saw a cornucopia basket for $1 in a thrift shop and decided to make a silk flower arrangement for my Thanksgiving table. I enjoyed it so much that I made all of my own Christmas decor that year. Then I started giving arrangements to friends and family. Within a few months, I started my own silk floral design company. Once I added fresh floral designs, I started Duchess Florals.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We usually provide centerpieces and other event décor as well as bridal party flowers, and ceremony décor. We are extremely creative in our approach and love to think "outside the box" when working within a tight budget.
