FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't have a standard pricing system. It mainly depends on the distance that I drive to my student's residence/library and the type of exam prep/subject that I am tutoring. For my educational background, having more than 15 years of one-one-one tutoring and mentoring, as well as teaching large classes, my prices are extremely competitive.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get a thorough background of what kind of student I am going to help academically. For example, are they in need from the basics or are they more advanced? This will help me to determine where I need to focus and begin my program. For exam prep students, I give a pre-test. This helps me to determine where I need to begin my prep program. This will help me further to determine the individuals strengths and weaknesses.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Physics, Minor in Mathematics, and a Masters in Health Physics. With over 15 years of experience, I have taught 100’s of students, either one-on-one or in a classroom setting. I am considered an elite instructor/tutor/mentor and has been awarded “Best of Thumbtack” in 2015 and 2016. I have also previously worked as a chemist and physicist before establishing NJ Tutors, LLC.
