Introduction: We provide exquisite residential and commercial decorative painting services specializing in Faux Finishes, Gilding and Fine Plaster. The Studio prides itself in offering a combination of artistry, execution and value. The Studio provides superior customer service, original designs that are affordable, reliable and timely artists and superior craftsmanship that is clean and efficient. As an artist I like to work out the initial request of the client but it's also important for me to present the client with options. Often, a client is unaware of a new finish or another approach to solve a design problem. There's never only one solution to a problem and it's my responsibility to present several ideas. Those ideas will have a good balance between what the client needs and wants, architecturally authentic design and what the project can afford. This is how I continually produce a quality finish with the "wow" factor.

I was introduced to Cook Varkony Studios, LLC by a friend who had great results remodeling their kitchen. I was looking for a unique approach to repaint my bedroom wall. After some professional and friendly consultation, we both decided to go for a metallic copper finish with some acrylic plaster. Tanya was incredibly friendly, helpful and extremely professional. She provided a stunning sample in a timely manner, and the job was finished 2 days earlier than expected. My friends absolutely rave about the wall, and I am overwhelmed by how beautiful her craft is. I would absolutely use Cook Varkony Studios, service again as the final product is truly unique and it was a pleasure to work with them.

Tanya has done several mural and stencil projects with me. Her performance meets the highest professional standards of time, cleanliness and respect of the residence. Tanya has developed her sense of color and technique through years of on site experience. She has a flexible and apt problem solving skills. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
These are general and prices vary from situation to situation depending on the complexity of the execution. Base painting $2.00/sq Ft Venetian Plaster $12 and up /sq ft
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with an initial consultation which typically lasts from .5- 1.5 hours. the client and I get to know each other and I share physical samples and photos of my work. We will look at the space and determine what the client needs. At that point I will typically produce a sample and offer an estimate. This process takes about a week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Tanya Varkony began studying design in 1989 at Drexel University then University of Pennsylvania. After that she has trained for ongoing years at Dundean Studios in Chatham, NJ.
