Introduction: When you book The Uptown Getdowns for your wedding, we:
-work closely with you, in the months leading up, to arrange the days events, make
suggestions where needed, and provide feedback on anything you're needing input on.
-Coordinate with Maitre'ds, caters, photographers, etc. to create and implement a work
flow sheet for the days events
-Provide MC services, like announcements, introductions, crowd interactions, etc.
-We will learn 5 songs of your choosing for the band to perform live.
-We will DJ any specific songs you may want to hear in the original form
-Provide DJ'ed music during intermissions.
-We provide top of the line (QSC K-series) sound equipment
-Provide basic stage/dancefloor lighting
-Small sound system for ipod during cocktail hour. (if needed)
Some additional add onoptions we offert:
-solo pianist for cocktail
-3 piece horn section to perform with the band during reception.
-Small sound system and operation for ceremony.

I cannot say enough great things about these guys. But let me try. First, my husband and I went to hear their live show before hiring them, and we loved them. Their style, and their song list, was basically what we were looking for. They are a little on the mellower side, which we really liked. That said, they do provide a very wide range of music, and our guests were dancing the whole evening. Even my husband, who really never dances, was on the dance floor, and not just with me - I caught him dancing with his friends as well, which I have never seen at any wedding or other event we've ever been to. They also nailed our first dance song that we asked them to learn - played it exactly like the band so it was easy to do our dance that we practiced to the original song. They did a really great job MC'ing, everything went so smoothly.
Second, the contact at the band, Steve, was just amazing. He is super responsive, really makes an effort to stay in touch throughout the whole planning process, and really makes an effort to not just provide music but really help with the coordination of the entire evening.
Third, they charge about half the price. When my now husband and I attended a wedding of a friend a few years ago, they had a great band, and we decided if we get married we must have a band. But when I started looking into the prices, I was very discouraged. So I am really lucky to have found these guys! I am pretty certain one would not be able to find a band of equal quality for this price, and I am almost sure that one wouldn't be able to find a band of any quality for this price for a Manhattan wedding.

Hiring Steve and the Uptown Getdowns was easily the best decision I made for my wedding! Guests are still talking about how great the band was, and how much fun they had! Everyone danced the whole night. Steve was so helpful and friendly from the first time I chatted with him, and he really helped to make the wedding a truly unforgettable event. He worked with me on the songs, and was so accommodating. Absolutely professional, but lots of fun! I could not recommend Steve and the band enough!

The Uptown Getdowns performed at my wedding on August 7th, 2015 at Brooklake CC in Florham Park, NJ. I could not have asked for anything better. They did an AMAZING job. From the moment I first spoke to Steve, he was great. Never had a problem contacting him to ask questions, the band did a great job on the songs I requested them to learn, and people are still raving about how great they did! I truthfully couldn't have imagined a better performance!!

The Uptown Getdowns greatly exceeded our expectations for our wedding. They seemed genuinely happy to be there and like they were having a good time, as they played great music that really got everyone excited on the dance floor. We heard rave reviews from many guests about our band. They get our highest recommendation.
