It is my pleasure to recommend Brian O'Hare as a guitar teacher. He has been my teacher since 2013. Brian is dedicated, knowledgeable, patient and talented, a rare combination of attributes in one teacher. He teaches children, in fact, he was my 5 year old neighbor's guitar teacher, so I knew he'd have the ability to teach me, a 60 year, old guy. What I appreciate about Mr. O'Hare as a teacher is that he taught me the complete instrument and how to read music. This to me was more valuable than other teachers who just would teach me how to play a song. Anyone who appreciates the value of learning an instrument will understand the difference. I highly recommend Brian as a guitar teacher.

I've been working on improving and refreshing my guitar skills with Brian a little over six months now. At first, I didn't really know what to expect since I haven't picked up music in over 15 years. What I liked about Brian is that he was able to customize my lessons to my level. I wasn't a true beginner, but I also wasn't advanced in guitar. He was able to test and adjust his lessons to match my skill level . So far, he has helped me improve in sight reading, finger style techniques, and develop a repertoire of several classical songs. In addition, we've explored Blues and Jazz and scales /accompaniment chords to i for solo guitar improvisations. I love working with Brian and tapping into his vast knowledge of musical styles and techniques. He is flexible and can change the course of a lesson on a dime. Some weeks we strictly work on technique, which is important. He's also a stickler for correct technique and will point out error in form if necessary. My favorite thing about working with Brian is that he is the first instructor (and I've had many) that focuses on developing style and musicality. Many instructors will move a student along when they learn how to play a song..but completely dismiss the importance of performing a piece with musicality in mind. I whole heartedly endorse and recommend Brian as a music / guitar instructor. Don't look further!

Brian is a very passionate and methodical instructor. He has an extensive music knowledge as well as years of experience in teaching. He always finds different approach to fix issues in my playing. He has a keen eye and ear to pinpoint technique issues as well as ways to refine the melody and how to approach it to sound the best musically. Within couple of months I improved my technique and playing significantly. As well as I am able to play finger-style couple of nice classical pieces. It has been a lot of fun learning the guitar with Brian. The sessions tend to drift into hours of playing non-stop which is amazing. Brian keeps varying the sessions from technique focused to improvisation, melody adjustments and style with some music theory every now and then; There is always something new to learn and sessions are always engaging and interesting. Thanks Brian:) I would highly recommend Brian for guitar lessons!
