Packing and Unpacking

After moving from California to New York on my own, I was exhausted and desperately needing an extra pair of hands to help get my new (hopefully long term) home in order. I found Sophia on Thumbtack and within hours had booked her services for the very next day. Her team were super responsive and detailed in taking me through the work to be done and how long it would take. Sophia and Jenae (sorry if that’s the wrong spelling!) showed up the next morning and jumped straight into organizing my office, wardrobe and kitchen. 10hrs later, everything was in its place, boxes disposed and even the floors cleaned. I was so happy with the work and relieved it was all done so I could enjoy my new home I could have cried. Sophia is like the fairy godmother we all need to organize our lives. She has a lifelong client now!

Home Organizing

To say Organize by Sophia changed my life is an understatement. A few months prior i had gotten out of an abusive relationship. One of the tools of control he used against me was to litter my apartment with unnecessary items. When he left, the stuff remained and i felt trapped. But Organize by Sophia came to the rescue and they worked so hard to help me organize my stuff and haul out all that trash. Sophia often worked until midnight so distressed by my ex's handiwork. When she was done not only was my home clean, i felt free. Thank you doesn't cover the extent of my gratitude. choose them if you need some help.

Sophia practices home and office organization as an art and a science. She has a keen eye for what the situation is and how it can be, listens to and respects her clients’ goals and sensitivities. My beloved apartment was a real hodgepodge of accumulated stuff…boxes of files brought from my now closed office, endless envelopes of pre-digital photos, closets and drawers of clothes that needed to be sorted and culled. Without Sophia, I’d still be sitting in the middle of the floor paralyzed and overwhelmed. With her firm but compassionate support, we have made tremendous progress in the streamlining I crave. At times, she will work on her own, consulting with me before making any major changes. And when I must participate more fully, she keeps me calm and motivated. Sophia goes way beyond superficial appearance; she digs down deep to clear out the disorganization from its roots! All of this spacial clarifying is actually causing me to be more productive as I work from home. I’m planning to engage Sophia for two or three more sessions as now that we’ve started, I am very excited about really doing a thorough job, and thoroughness is exactly Sophia’s style. Once we are done, I’m going to feel like I lost ten pounds, wrote the great American novel and swam the English Channel!

Home Organizing

When I first decided that I would take in the project I thought I would do it myself. Then the reality of the task hit me and I hired you guys. If I’m being honest I was a little apprehensive about the length of time and cost quoted. Again I quickly decided that I would just do it. Finding you and you agreeing to do a same day service on a Sunday I was blown away. The communication was amazing. The arrival was prompt and the work immediately began. Peeking in I was amazed at the detail that was being put into the job. Part of the way into the job I had to run out and was completely comfortable leaving someone I’d met no more than a hour ago in my home. I again must say that the precision and detail that was placed into the task was phenomenal. The job at the end left me happy I chose to have it done, but a little disappointed that what I thought should’ve been completed was not. While again everything was hung and organized with precision, the clothes on the shelves didn’t make it into the equation. I am now tasked with doing it myself or rehiring you or someone. I assumed it would all get done in the quoted time since detailed pictures was sent. Let me say this. Despite the latter part of my review I would without a doubt utilize your service again. I also would recommend you highly. I would myself simply make sure that I’m clear as to complete expectations because of what was quoted and discussed in detail. Had that been completed this would be a ten star review.

Packing and Unpacking

working with sophia was a delight. she was very respectful, warm and professional. she worked on unpacking my clothing and getting my bedroom to feel like a home. she folded and organized and even rearranged my bedroom. it looks great and the space looks ‘bigger’ with her tips. i can’t wait to work with her again. highly recommend.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Our pricing is competitive, however our service is extremely detailed and well strategized. Besides our hourly rate for 1 professional ($70), and the rate for 2 professionals, ($120) our services also include travel fees and state taxes. Typically our projects start at $340 and can range up to $3,000 or more for several days/weeks of decluttering, organizing or packing and unpacking you from a move.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    Our typical process for working with a new customer is to have an initial consultation session over the phone which generally lasts 10-15 minutes. This allows us to get to know our potential client and their exact needs beyond what their request was able to share with us online. Then, we draft a final quote and a simple work agreement for them to sign. We agree on a session date and time via email and this information is included in the work agreement for both the customer and for us to sign. Lastly, through our secure payment system, the full payment is required in order to reserve their time slot with us. A calendar invite with your organizers full name and number, the address, the arrival time and all tips for preparing for your session are sent to you confirming your appointment. For larger projects, we do accept deposits.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Our expertise is completely self-taught however we do acquire outside knowledge monthly via organizing styles such as the kon-mari technique and the S.P.A.C.E technique.
