FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$165 plus tax (NJ residents) is my standard tuning fee. This is more than most, but I include minor repair and assess the overall condition of the instrument. I also give you an approximate market value of the piano as I have been buying and selling pianos thorought my career and understand values of pianos.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first need to determine what the piano needs or does not need. Then we need to determine whether or not the piano is worth the cost of the work needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A Registered Piano Technician must attend their local chapter meetings once a month, where "technicals" are given. These are classes from other experienced piano technicians who share their knowledge and expertise with the guild chapter. The meetings are good, but experience is better. I have 4 decades of personal experience to draw on.
