Introduction: I have several years teaching high school students and college undergrads. I taught from elementary math all the way to calculus and physics. I believe that one-on-one tutoring method is not only the most effective approach but it is also a combination of tutoring skills or how well the tutor can present the information at one time. Most of the tutors know the concept well, but they don't know how to simplify it for the student. If you can't explain it in the most simple way, then you don't fully grasp the concepts! I have tutored current students in county colleges of any level of math. It is so important to have a good foundation in basic algebra, geometry and trigonometry to take on the bigger math classes. I offer to give not only an answer to your question but also to give you the general rule to find the answer to any problem relevant to that chapter or subject. My method differs from any tutor out there for what I have seen. I first get ready and go over my lectures on the chapter that I'm going to tutor the student a day before. I also use animations and advanced computerized mathematical software when needed to make the students understand the concepts that are hard to grasp.
