What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees are negotiable, depending on the needs and goals of my clients.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I discuss the expectations, goals, and learning style of the client in order to agree on appropriate teaching materials, methods, and pacing. Some people prefer to focus on written materials; other on spoken interaction, instruction; and others on memorization, repetition, and passive learning. To tutor effectively, I want to be able to tailor my methods to the client's needs and learning style to make the learning interesting, challenging, and fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard College and a law degree from Harvard Law School that launched a lifetime of academic curiosity and a pursuit of excellence. In my professional life, I have many years experience training employees in complex legal and compliance matters in English, Spanish, and some Portuguese and also had to work with materials in French and Mandarin. For many years, I have also taught and coached adults in advanced Tai Chi and children in Sunday school. I have also tutored my own children in Spanish, math, history, writing, and science.
