I am Chef Marie Maglio, owner of Proper Palate. We are a true Farm to Table, biodynamic farming supporting business. I look forward to working with you. I am an Organic/Gluten Free/ allergen free private chef who specializes in providing meals to those who want quality dishes. We source from local farms for produce, meats and dairy. Each time we are selected for a job we ensure to provide not only the best service and quality but take the pressure off our clients, especially for those special occasions. We have an awesome team of servers, bartenders and staff with over 30 years experience in the food industry. We do not cook vegan using processed or soy based products. We have a minimum of 6 or more people for Saturday parties.
*We are not able to issue refunds on deposits due to scheduling conflicts or Covid/sickness related cancellations. We will do our best to reschedule for a day that works for both parties. Prices will fluctuate with market prices*

Everything about Proper Palate went smoothly, from our first communication via Thumbtack to our event. Chef Marie responded to our initial inquiry promptly and was flexible in choosing menu options to suit our guests. Everything was fantastic: appetizers - charcuterie board, crabcakes and tuna tartare; entree - choice of filet mignon and haddock; dessert - apple turnover in pastry with ice cream. Everyone raved about the food. They spaced dinner out nicely with each course, served and cleared the plates from the guests and cleaned up the kitchen. They were delightful to have around. We are trying to think of another event to have with them!

Chef Marie and her team cooked an amazing dinner for my cousin Kathleens birthday dinner!! The 4 course meal was amazing! The main courses were short ribs and halibut and truly was probably the best meal I have had! They were professional, courteous and cleaned the kitchen to boot when the meal was finished. Run, dont walk to call Chef Marie!! She spoiled us and my cousin really enjoyed her birthday dinner!

We recently threw a fantastic, elegant surprise birthday party with 34 guests in our backyard in Bergen County, and Chef Marie from ProperPalate.com made it an event to remember.
Amazing Customized Menu: Chef Marie really nailed it with the menu. She took our preferences and the season into account, offering great suggestions that perfectly matched our needs. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right, even with some tricky requests.
Stress-Free Party: Having Chef Marie and her team was such a relief. They showed up early, got used to our space quickly, and took care of everything so we didn’t have to stress. They made the whole event so much easier and more enjoyable.
