Tom was beyond helpful. His team and him had excellent knowledge about what they do, and helped me fix a prior screw up. I had previously hired someone to help install plexiglass on the stairs to ferret proof my home, but they did such a hack job that not only was my ferret able to nudge it loose, but the banister itself was damaged. But Tom came to the rescue and repaired the damage and did a stellar job to install the plexiglass at a very reasonable rate. Will definitely work with Tom again and would 10/10 recommend him.
TJ was totally excellent to work with! He installed some shiplap on 2 walls and finished a step that a previous flooring company wouldn’t do. Super satisfied with the results. Easy to communicate with and trustworthy. I’m now hiring him to redo my stairs and 2nd floor flooring project!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We work with customers of all ranges and often get the question "how much is this going to cost?"
The answer is a lot more complex than a simple number. For us here at TJ Wilson Carpentry an estimate is exactly that. It's a ballpark number, where as a price is specific and takes time to come up with. So the answer depends on your specific project and what you are looking to achieve. Sometimes there's a design fee involved with certain types of projects. Our prices include things that are often overlooked at first (we are a detail oriented company). So at any point during the process ask questions or point out details that you are especially concerned about this way your price is exactly what you want.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In most cases. Stage 1 is to get to know what customer is looking for and what their budget is. A budget can help steer the direction in a path that makes the customer happy in the end. Some times a design fee is required before even going into the next few stages as with more complex projects. Meeting a budget with expectations is the second stage. Then a contract is written and review by both parties.
