Job Description: Garage Ceiling Racks (2) and 1 piece of furniture that was moved. Scope of the job was never completed, meaning a full review at the beginning of the job of what could possibly be needed in order to complete the job successfully and efficiently. It was clear after handy homes built the ceiling racks in 3 hours time that this was not a job for 1 handyman. I was advised after day 1 that another handyman would come and help complete the job with him. This would double the cost of the job since you pay per hour per handyman. Day 2, another 3-4 hours of work, now 2 guys working , attempting installation without any mention of issues that arose during the process. The handy homes rep mentioned he forgot to tell me, but somehow managed to tell me twice during the job to consider signing up for your monthly membership. I also mentioned to the handy homes rep which way my beams ran in the garage to insure a smoother installation but somehow they mentioned they were difficult to find. As a customer with all this going on, all I’m thinking about is the hourly rate and how my small storage job is turning into a larger expense since this was my first experience hiring a handyman service. Now, thinking that everything has been completed since thats what I’ve been told when handy homes left my home, I notice the broken bolts and the joist screw hanging out of my ceiling, crooked. In my opinion the backs were broken from the torque of the drill used to build them, not a manufacturer error. Regardless, only handy homes knows what happened and had to come back to secure them. In our brand new house, seeing a joist screw hanging out of our ceiling on an angle doesn’t give anyone comfort. Cosmetically, it looks terrible but safety is my priority and handy homes installed a second joist bolt and verbally assured it was safe. As a business owner myself also in the service industry, it’s comforting to reach out regarding an issue and get a prompt response back with an action plan. I thanked Kerry for that. I also thanked Kerry for sending back a handy homes rep back at no cost. As feedback, I would say all of this could have been avoided if a true scope of the job was completed and when issues came up, we addressed them in the moment instead of after they occurred. With this being my first impression using this service I would have appreciated being notified in the moment.

Most customers choose our flat monthly membership because each member is paired with a dedicated handyman who visits twice a month to knock out your honey do lists. We also create custom home maintenance plans that we will automatically manage over 50 critical preventative maintenance tasks. We also work by the hour at $99 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin with a free home walk-through to evaluate your to dos, and it's a great opportunity to meet your HandyPro. If you decide to become a member we will design a preventative ProCare home maintenance plan tailored to your home, and Handy Homes automatically schedules and performs it all.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are licensed, certified and insured. We are a licensed to repair and maintain your heating and cooling, and we include Spring and Fall HVAC services as part of our standard monthly membership (saving you at least $250), and
