What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing: Initial consultations generally last between 1.5 and 2 hours, and are $100. Followup consultations last between 1 and 1.5 hours, and are $75 each. Blocks of 4 consultations are $250 if scheduled together in advance. On the day of the initial consult (or prior), 3 more future visits can be scheduled which will then qualify for the block discount (again for a total of $250).
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do ensure that you find a dog trainer who uses modern Positive Reinforcement methods. Many trainers still use antiquated 'dominance' approaches, which is unfortunately based on a decades old misunderstanding of dog/wolf behavior. The use of shock collars can also lead to highly undesirable behaviors. The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (www.apdt.com) has some excellent resources on finding a good trainer, and acceptable training methods.
