About

I teach private piano lessons of all levels and ages with a focus on classical music, music theory, sight reading, pop/rock music, and hand dexterity at the piano. My experience and background includes a bachelor's degree in Music Studies from WPUNJ, several years teaching piano privately, 10 years of playing, a small amount of accompaniment, and I am also an experienced swim coach. My teaching philosophy is enjoyment of the instrument first and perfection second, it's much harder to improve on something if you don't enjoy it first. For lessons I am able to either come to your location directly or teach on Zoom/Video Chat. Either are fine! Please feel free to shoot me a message if you are interested in learning piano!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First lesson is generally a trial lesson so I can evaluate a students needs and abilities. We continue with those needs and abilities in mind and I will adapt the lessons accordingly. Music books will be purchased or recommended as we go, and I can make copies of many different kinds of sheet music that I already have for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor's degree in Music Studies from William Paterson University and an AFA degree in Music from Raritan Valley Community College. 10+ years of Piano Lessons for myself. Several years of experience teaching piano.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began learning piano in highschool alongside swimming, which I also coach, and I majored in music at Raritan Valley Community College and then at William Paterson University. I had taught a few music lessons here and there at first and then begun to get more referrals for teaching and built up a relatively small but very consistent studio.
