Please note, in accordance with the New Jersey Professional Services Act, licensed engineers can size and design engineered systems in a home (such as structure, plumbing, septic, pools, and HVAC), but not the building itself. Only a registered architect can provide plans for a new home.
Also please note we are not surveyors. If you want a property survey, please list your project under the surveyors service section.
Also please note that structural engineers work on a fixed-fee basis. When ThumbTack lists "$1-onsite estimate," that does not mean we come out to your home to provide a professional opinion for $1. That message was originally intended to apply to contractors like painters and landscapers, not to engineers and architects. Engineers and architects will provide an up-front, free proposal for your inquiry, but our in-the-field real estate due diligence assessment services and structural repair cost reports are not $1.

We had an outstanding experience working with Oak Ridge Engineering LLC on the structural assessment for the property at 117–119 E 26th Street, Paterson, NJ. The report was exceptionally thorough, clearly written, and professionally prepared from start to finish.

We were in the process of closing on our parents home, and asked to have a StructuralEngineer evaluation. Oak Ridge Engineering was available right away and performed a very thorough, professional and expert inspection. They were honest, and the expertise and professionalism was exceptional. The report was detailed and beyond satisfactory. Gregg was wonderful, personable and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. On a side note, it is very stressful to sell a home and the Company made our family feel comfortable and secure during a very difficult time. We are very grateful and would highly recommend Oak Ridge Engineering for any need. Thank you so Much!!!

I had a great experience working with Darren from Oak Ridge Engineering. He came out to assess a wall in my condo to determine if it was load-bearing, and he was prompt, professional, and thorough. Darren clearly explained his findings and quickly provided a detailed structural report to provide to the township to obtain permits, which helped me move forward with confidence on my renovation project. I highly recommend Oak Ridge Engineering for anyone needing structural assessments or engineering support.

Darren was fantastic. My fiancé and I are in the process of possibly buying a new home that had some structural defects. He was so thorough that he found more than what we initially thought. He was able to answer all of our questions in detail. He also did more than what we initially asked him to do and gave us so many suggestions and possibilities for certain things. On top of this as promised he got our report to us the next day. While I hope we never have to use his services again, if we don’t decide to buy this home we will definitely be hiring him. Thank you again Darren!

Darren was incredible. He responded quickly to all of our requests and walked us through all of our questions and possibilities of how to handle things. The entire drawings from start to finish were completed within a week! He worked with us and our contractor to make sure we weee all on the same page so that our final project will be completed properly. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We provide competitive pricing, and include a full structural assessment with our home inspection fee.
In addition, if you're not getting a structural assessment by a licensed engineer as part of your home inspection, you could end up scrambling for one as your due diligence window closes.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to ask about a few details regarding the property, and we like to hear from you if you have specific concerns.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed professional engineer and licensed home inspector. I have inspected properties as small as a studio apartment, to large iconic structures like the Chrysler Building and the Irving Trust Building.
