Introduction: Hi! My name is Amy Gruber and I've been teaching voice since 1995! I am here for my students in every way. If you have a goal, I will get you there. If you are unsure, then I can guide you to something greater. My major instrument is voice, and I continuously study, hone, and polish my instrument to keep myself current, so I can be the best teacher I can be for my students. I am currently continuing my Opera studies with Julia Koci, a renowned Opera singer from Austria. You can catch her at the Volksoper if you are ever in Vienna! I am a certified music teacher k-12 and have a BS in Music Ed with a concentration in vocal studies from Hofstra University and an MS in Foundations of Ed also from Hofstra. I sang professionally as well as taught general music, voice, and choral groups while employed by the Brentwood music Department on Long Island for several years before having kids. I now teach general music, voice programs and private voice instructions at the Victorious Voices Studio, located in Toms River, New Jersey :) Victorious Voices Performing Arts studio offers a wide variety of programs for all ages. In my studio, I use eclectic styles and teaching methods. My Philosophy is to use your body, mind and soul in music. I really try to cater to each Student's needs. I really enjoy helping students find their voices. It is an amazing feeling to help a student gain self confidence and work toward reaching their full potential.

Amy is such an amazing vocal teacher. I went to her as a nasally 12 year old who adored singing and I came out of my lessons with her so much stronger, not only vocally but also more confident. I learned so many styles including Broadway, classical, and pop. She was very open to finding music I enjoyed singing. Because of her lessons, I landed roles in my schools musicals and I have recorded music in a studio. She also realizes how emotional singing can be for some people. She was like a second mother to me. She was there to see not only my vocal growth, but my emotional growth. I've worked with vocal coaches through musicals and school but Amy was definitely the teacher who made me feel most comfortable and helped me most to grow.

Ms. Amy is a very skilled and fun teacher. She has helped me make it into many different competitions, as well as school plays and musicals. She is also very patient, and will never get upset if you make mistakes. She will help you to get better at the things you chose, as well as recommend things that would be good for you. She is a very good person and teacher, and I would recommend her to anybody I know.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe my prices are on par with other professionals with similar experience and credentials in my field, in the Ocean/Monmouth County and surrounding areas. I do offer special discounts if you refer me to a friend and they book lessons with me 😊
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new student, I try to make them feel very relaxed and at home in my studio while learning more about them. At their first introductory lesson, I will go over proper singing posture, begin breathing activities and age/level appropriate vocalises, explore range and age/level appropriate repertoire.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelors of Science in music education with a concentration in voice from Hofstra University and my masters of Science in foundations of education also from Hofstra University. I have studied voice and piano for many years and have been teaching in those areas since 1995. To continue to be the best voice teacher I can be for my students, I continuously study my instrument. I am currently continuing my Opera voice studies with Opera singer Julia Koci . If you are ever in Vienna, you can hear her singing at the Volksoper!!! :)
