Michael Brown, the dedicated owner and chef of Michael's Event Catering, was born in southern New Jersey and has been cooking for over 12 years. He received an Associates degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University. Michael has also worked for various esteemed catering and banquet companies. After studying and traveling extensively, Michael decided to open his own business committed to taking care of the one thing that all of the other companies forget about: the customer. Together we combine expert planning and service to make your event memorable, relaxing, and just as incredible as the food itself. We also offer a variety of handmade fruit centerpieces, fresh baked goods, and decadent chocolate creations. We can work with you to help you stay within your budget. To put it simply, it's having people taste my food and to see them enjoy it. Also, witnessing all the different events, from catering birthday parties, out door BBQs at family reunions, or even the elegance of a wedding and seeing so many good people enjoying themselves.

michael event catering was amazing for my wife's surprise party. the food was excellent, and the service was out of this world. each of the servers took the time to address the people at my party individually and i really appreciate that. Our Plated Service Wedding: Michael's Event Catering is nothing short of amazing!!! We planned our wedding with Chef Michael and couldn't have been more pleased. He shows a true passion for what he does and it showed in every detail. Chef was a joy to work with and eased our stresses every step of the way. During the planning of the event he always made himself available and his guidance was not only accurate but well presented. He came highly recommendedby the location we held our wedding and we can see why. His level of professionalism was only out matched by the quality food served. His service team was gracious and at the same time extremely kind and friendly. We are still receiving compliments regarding the food and service. Our budget wasn't the greatest but yet he was able to personalize a package for us that allowed for us to get everything we wanted and more. We would not hesitate and have already recommended Michael's Event Catering to our friends and family. We will use his services every chance we get. Thank you Chef!!! Thanks to Michael's Event Catering our wedding was made memorable by the delicious food and wonderful service he provided! The food display was beautiful from the fruit carvings to the bread display. The service provided by the waiters and waitresses was fit for a king and queen. I cannot recall how many times I was asked if I needed anything but I do remember how many times I had to ask for something which was zero! I couldn't believe how professional and friendly the entire staff was to all of our guests. Our wedding unfortunately fell on the same day as Hurricane Irene. From the week before up to the night of we had many of our other professional services try to cancel on us such as our DJ and hair and make up artist but Michael was the one service that didn't try to falter on us! He remained poised and confident throughout the whole ordeal and his organization helped our guests feel comfortable and forget what was happening outside! I praise him for this since the caterer is really the heart of the wedding. He went above and beyond all of our expectations and made our wedding a beautiful, organized, and delicious one! How lucky was I when Michaels Event Catering answered my request for my son's Engagement cocktail party! The fact that he was always available and answered all my questions quickly and efficiently made me confident that I would be satisfied. Not only was he on time and everything was as requested but the food was over the top delicious!!! The staff was courteous and professional and everyone was soon asking for his brochures!! I can't suggest anything that could have been improved on --I will definitely use Michaels Event Catering in the future!!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved cooking I knew since I was in 5th grade that I wanted to be a chef even after my loved ones tried to scare me out of the profession with the long hours and working on holidays. But, when you do what you love it's never work and hearing that you brought joy to an event is the main goal of mine.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common types of jobs we have here at Michael's Event Catering, are usually BBQ, Weddings, and Small Parties.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The main advice I could give anyone on hiring out a caterer, is to be confident in the company. They are going to be bring the food to the party, making sure they brought enough food. Make sure you talk to the representative and get all your questions answered.
