I have been working with Gordon for almost 7 years now. He has taken my guitar playing to new heights. As a guitarist, I am now able to improvise proficiently based on Gordon's ability to efficiently teach improvisation. Recently Gordon taught me the basic elements of Jazz, a genre of music that I was not comfortable playing. However I was motivated to audition for my high school's Jazz Band, and with Gordon's help, I got the spot of guitarist for my junior and senior years of high school.
When Gordon voiced that I was at the level where I could begin to teach beginner guitar lessons, I was a bit reluctant and uncomfortable. However Gordon kept pushing me to pursue teaching, because he believes in my ability to show the guitar to others the way he showed it to me. As of now I have four initial students that are starting up lessons this summer. I would never be in the position to teach without Gordon's positive encouragement and help.
When I leave for college not only will I be leaving the lessons of a wonderful guitar teacher. I will be leaving the weekly visits of a lifelong friend. Thanks to Gordon Johnson, guitar will serve as an interest for the rest of my life.

Did extensive search to find the right fit and match for our children. Gordon creates a fun environment that makes it cool to learn and play guitar, and customizes the lesson plan based on our children's interests. I love how he joins in and jams w the kids and demonstrates what they could do w their song. he clearly is passionate about guitar and teaching
