- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $4.00 per hole do replace hand woven caning. Count the number of holes around the perimeter of the caned area. I charge $6.00 per inch to replace prewoven or pressed caning. Measure the largest dimension of the caned area. I charge $7.00 per inch to replace rush. Measure the largest dimesnion of the rushed area. Materials are additional, usually $20-$25 for the average chair.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I show them photos and in some cases actual samples of my work. I refer them to my customer reviews so they can see what other clients think of the quality of my work. Finally, I provide them with an accurate estimate as to the cost and time necessary to complete the work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing caning and rushwork for about 35 years. I am self taught.
