I am an adult piano student, returning to piano after many (many!) years. I have studied with Ruth for about a year now, and she has totally rekindled my love for piano. She is deeply knowledgeable, patient, and motivates me to challenge myself. Best of all, we discuss the type of music I enjoy, and she tailors the music selection to my interests - especially important to me as an adult student. I "feel" music, and she emphasizes dynamics, tempo, rhythm, etc. to impart emotion into the music I play. Ruth is gem among piano teachers (and an incredibly nice person as well!).

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I start beginners with a 30 minute lesson. I feel that allows for enough time to keep their interest-level high without overwhelming them. Following, I schedule lessons for the same day/time once a week. My degree in music education places me at a greater advantage than those without formal training.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each week we work on increasingly more difficult concepts as it relates to the music. If I feel a student has some difficulty, repetition is key to playing the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in music education and a concentration piano.
