After Covid, I needed to go back to being part time in the office. I took a look at my wardrobe and was so tired and uninspired by the clothes I had and needed outside help. I found Heather on Thumbtack and we worked virtually to edit my closet, create new outfits for clothes I already owned and identified five to six pieces that would maximize the rest of my wardrobe. The work I did with Heather was fun and liberating. I have a habit of buying random pieces that I love but have nothing to pair them with: a dress but no appropriate shoes, velvet pants but no top that goes, etc. Before working with Heather my closet felt like a hopeless hodgepodge. It was always painful having to find an outfit to go to an event. Heather pointed out the 2 or 3 basic items that I needed to pull my entire wardrobe together, bringing order to the chaos. My husband jokes that my closet is a sea of khaki green. I use my clothes to hide. Heather made me feel that not only could I express myself through my clothing choices but that I deserved to. She got me thinking outside my narrow box of what I believed was appropriate for me. I came away with confidence that goes deeper than just what I’m wearing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is $75/hr. Right now I am running a 15% discount for first-time clients.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start with a 30 minute free consultation, in order to get to know you, and your lifestyle. I want to hear about your wardrobe needs, loves, and any fears you may have around certain colors or silhouettes. If you choose to continue working with me, the next step would be The Closet Edit. I will identify what you should keep and let go of. I'll create new outfits using existing clothing, and we will come away with a shopping list of key wardrobe-enhancing pieces that will maximize your entire wardrobe. As a third step, I will shop for you. I'll be sensitive to your budget, and shop accordingly - style is not about price tag! If we are working remotely, I'll send you links for specific styles in your size that you can then purchase.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a women's clothing designer, I have been in the fashion industry for 20+ years, and have worked with brands that real women wear (Old Navy, Kohl's, Liz Claiborne). I have both designed and styled clothes for women of all shapes and sizes, and I absolutely love making women feel beautiful, helping them create wardrobes they love, and that really works for them.
