FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing structure is loosely based on a $150/hour rate, but that is merely a vague hourly structure to give me an expectation of time and a project fee. Every project has its own unique specifications, and I will say that I never charge all of my hours based on that rate. I always give a proposal cost and adhere to that agreed cost - specific to the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I continue to broaden my knowledge of graphic programs, either via continuing education classes or in working with my vendors.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been an artist, but I was fortunate in my 20's to have ended up in New York City, where the best advertising design was happening. And, my uncle, Julian Koenig, just happened to offer a position in his advertising firm, while I looked for work. It was so interesting, because I had never considered "commercial" art as a direction while in college, and had I not been so lucky to have landed in NYC at this time, I might never have chosen this job. It actually chose me, and as I worked in his small boutique firm, I saw some of the most creative and brilliant work happening around me - and realized I wanted to be an art director! In fact the first photoshoot I ever attended as an assistant - the photographer was Richard Avedon!! Amazing - from that moment forward, I realized I was surrounded by the best creatives in the business - and my Uncle was a famous copywriter!! He wrote & produced all of the Timex "It takes a Licking and keeps on ticking" ads, the "Think Small" campaign for VW, and I could go on and on . . . so many years later, I realized how lucky I was!!
