- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Price ranges by location, length of shoot, number of people and number of prints desired after shoot. Weddings start at $500 for most basic services (ceremony only), online proof site and select number of images. Price scales up with added timeframes/locations such as engagement, pre and post wedding, as well as desired prints, books, USB with images and more. Basic head shot is $50. More extensive portrait shoot varies by time and type of look/feel of the shot(s). Family shoots range by number of individuals, time, location and print package. Basic packages with online proof site and 10 digital downloads start at $300. Business shots vary with time, location, number of people, setup/arrangements for the shoot and type of desired use. Most basic shoot (one hour or less) start at $200. All shoots receive discount for prints and print packages. Additional shoots also discounted if done within year. Discount will also be given for future shoots for referrals that result in shoot. All shoots also require deposit to secure the time and date.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First is the discuss of the details. Depending on type of shoot and location I often will want to visit site prior to shoot to check out the setup, lighting, etc. I then provide guidelines and suggestions for shoot. During the shoot I will take the requested "posed shots" along with candids that show the interactions and personalities of people involved in the shoot. Afterward, I provide proofs from the shoot online. The customer then chooses the images they want (the number is dependent on the package purchased). These images are edited as needed (even out lighting, color balance, etc). The selected images are then available for download, and/or via USB. As part of the package or option afterward, I will provide prints and other printed media (such as photo book, cards, framed/ canvas prints and more). While I retain copyrights to the images, customers are free to share via social networks or printed images.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 30 years of photography with ongoing training -- both in person and online. Work and collaborate with other photographers as well to share knowledge and experience.
