Specific behaviors to address
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Too many trainers tend to focus on what a dog is doing wrong instead of celebrating what the dog is doing right. A different perspective can be all it takes to help solve a behavioral issue. The success of the dog is aways my best interest. There isn't a single thing about my job I don't enjoy. I know first hand how amazing it is to have a one of a kind bond with my animals, and my goal is for everyone with a dog to feel the same connection. Every dog is great. My love is to see a dog's greatness be unlocked and to show their human parents how wonderful it really is to own a dog.

We are so happy to have found Amy. She is very dedicated and knowledgeable when it come to training our new puppy. Each visit the puppy learns something new. Her advice on puppy raising has been invaluable. A plus!!!

It was a great experience and very effective. I have a much better relationship with my year old German Shepherd after 8 training sessions with Amy.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My training sessions are one hour long (in the client's home or in a public setting) and cost $50 per session. If for whatever reason, a dog must accompany me to a session, there is an additional $10 added to the price. For traveling farther than 35 miles away from my own home would be an additional fee of $10 as well.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My background is in years of studying, experimenting and attendance in Karen Pryor Academy. I've also worked alongside Behavioral Consultants and K-9 Officers.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Never stop shopping! Trainers can tell you they focus on positive training, but often times they will still use punishment based training. If you are uncomfortable or if the trainer does not give you a straight answer to a question, keep looking! It isn't worth it to chance such an important relationship with your dog!
