I am a Santa Fe based certified Math teacher with experience in working with students of any age. I am as comfortable in teaching elementary math as working with high-school and college students. I am patient and creative in finding ways to help my students learn. To me, Math is a great subject, and I do my best to bring students to a place where they enjoy working with it, too. I tutor in person or over the Internet.
I lived in Japan for 25 years. I am fluent in its language and knowledgeable about its culture and traditions. I tutor Japanese both online and in private at a conversational and advanced levels.
Having a Master's degree in science, I offer tutoring in physics and natural science. I also provide online exploratory science lessons for kids, where students learn about science through hands-on experiments, PowerPoint presentations, visual media, etc.
Let me know if you are interested in having a free 15 minutes trial session to experience in person what learning with me is like.
Teaching is my passion. In Japanese the word for teacher is SENSEI, which literally means a 'person who was born before another.' Or, a teacher isn't necessarily someone who is smarter or has greater abilities and potential than their students. They are someone who has more experience and knows how to approach the various challenges of learning. It is a great pleasure and a privilege to be able to share my experience and my knowledge with students. I love showing them ways to make their work more efficient and more elegant. Just as a teacher I keep learning through my students too and I appreciate that. To me learning is about expanding ourselves. It should be enjoyable and not a struggle. I strive to take my students to a place where they enjoy expanding their horizons too.
