About
Not only am I a graduate of the North Bennet Street School's Advanced Piano Technologies program and a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technician's guild, I have apprenticed with a number of well regarded piano technicians, worked at a piano factory, and worked at a piano dealership. Since starting my own business, I have made it my goal to help my customers' pianos play and sound as beautifully as possible, regardless of whether it's an old family piano or a concert Steinway. I'm always honest about what I see and what your options are, and I never unexpectedly change my pricing or nickle and dime you. Find out how easy getting your piano taken care of can be!

Andrew Gillespe did an excellent job with our 106 year old piano! We'll definitely be referring him to anyone looking for tuning and pitch raising.

Andrew let us know that there was an earlier opening in his schedule, so we were able to get our spinet tuned early. We have an old, somewhat broken down piano but he tuned and fixed it quickly and professionally without issue or complaint. We plan to invite him back whenever we need a tuning.

The piano tuner provided options that included a complete refurbishment of my old piano but did not try to push an upgrade to the scheduled regular tune-up. I chose the latter and am well satisfied.

Not only did Andrew respond almost immediately with a quote (I had to verify that it wasn't automated!) but he happened to be in my area - 2.5 hours from his shop - and was able to swing by on a Friday night. He was extremely professional throughout, from scheduling to tuning to billing, provided some maintenance tips, and even left a refrigerator magnet with his contact information and the month so I know when to reach out next year. He really knows his stuff, works quickly yet thoroughly, and left my piano sounding new. Highly recommended.

Andrew did a wonderful job and was obviously very knowledgeable. My piano sounds wonderful and he provided me with information about how to improve the sound quality further.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My tuning price is the same no matter how far out of tune your piano is. It also includes fixing any minor problems your piano might have, like sticky keys or squeaky pedals. The idea being that your quote is your quote, no additional fees unless your piano has a more major problem. If it does, I will go over it with you and discuss everything thoroughly before doing anything.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to keep things simple and be understanding of my customer's varying lifestyles. I'm happy to communicate in whatever way is easiest for you, be it phone, email, or even text, and I do my best to get a sense of what you want ahead of time. I'm also happy to work my schedule around what works for you, to the best of my abilities, which is why I offer evening and weekend appointments. Once I've seen a piano for the first time, I generally do a quick evaluation and let you know it's age and condition, and if I see anything that could be fixed or adjusted, and I leave it up to you to determine if you'd like any extra work done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of the North Bennet Street School's Advanced piano technology program and am a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technician's Guild. I apprenticed for three years with several different technicians. I worked for a while at the Mason and Hamlin Piano Factory and spent a year as the head technician for a Yamaha dealership.
