I hired Jonesin Handyman Service (Looking for the Next Fix) at the middle of August to redo my porch because it was in bad shape and since then it has been one disaster after another. The very first day I had to contact him here in Thumbtack to ask if we coming out that day to work on my porch.
Since then it got progressively worse with him not showing up for days and with him it has been one excuse after another. The one about his dog dying that he had for 14 years well I believed him on that one! So much so that it is the end of September and the porch still isn’t finished yet!
I asked him did he have a contractor’s license and he said that he did and stupid me believed him on that one. I checked a week later with them and it expired quite some time ago. He gave me a business card but it doesn’t have his license number on it.
I paid for all the supplies which we have to do hiring a contractor and even paid him in advance (Stupid Me)!
Two weeks ago I had to threaten him by turning him into the Contractor’s Board in Reno and I said some choice names to him on his personal phone and I felt bad for doing it, but that was the icing on the cake and I haven’t seen him since than. I even apologized to him on his business phone and said he needs to get his tools from me and so far I haven’t heard back from him at all.
Now I have credit card debts, a porch that isn’t finished and a mess on the side of my mobile home and porch.
I have another contractor coming out tomorrow on the first of October to finish the work that he didn’t finish. After they are done, I have to hire Junk King to pick up his mess that he left behind.
I’m just letting you know that if you are thinking about hiring him seriously think about it first! It seems that all he cares about is the money he will make by charging high labor fees to pay his bills and he doesn’t care about the service that he provides for his customers!
