Introduction: I have a Master's Degree in Special Education, and am certified to teach English, Special Education (LD, ED, and MR), and history and government at the secondary level. I have taught for nine years in public schools. 90% of my core and special education students passed the State mandated tests. This record of success is due to the work on efficient note taking, study techniques and test taking strategies, along with enthusiastic and motivation-based instruction. Above all, I love and respect my students. They realize early on that I'm on their side, and I concentrate on positive feedback, rather than the negative reactions they unfortunately have learned to expect. Students with behavioral and educational issues have learned that they can be successful and consequently shed the experience of being failures.
