Sam took a tricky job and knocked it out per the estimate. A few hours of work vs thousands in oem parts and extensive labor from fully booked mechanics - easy decision! Hopefully I won’t need Sams services in the future but I’m glad he’s here.

I had a great experience working with Sam and would not only work with him again but would wholeheartedly recommend him for any fabrication and welding jobs, or similar. He was extremely fast in responding to my messages and was clear about his pricing right away. He visited the site in advance and took detailed notes and measurements, then pre-fabricated what we needed to expedite the installation on our scheduled day. The job turned out great. Looks good and does exactly the job we needed it to. I really appreciate him still coming out and doing the job during COVID-19 (which he’s allowed to do as an essential worker but certainly didn’t have to do).

Sam is amazing. Knowledgeable meticulous and reasonable. The outcome of fixing my damaged woven aluminum mesh pond cover was better than the original. I would recommend his company for any complicated fabrication or repair.

I contacted Porter Fabrication regarding a railing requirement on my home in the Oakland Hills after an insurance company inspection. Sam responded promptly to my inquiry on Thumbtack. I had no idea what I was doing and was glad to have his immediate response. He gave me an estimate based on my description of what needed to be done and came out to my house within a few days. He arrived mostly on time considering coming from SF to Oakland during commute hours and sent a text with his arrival time. He measured and explained what he would be doing to make my project up to code as required by the insurance company. His time frame was two weeks which he met. The job was completed this past Saturday. He came in the rain to install the railing and completed the project with excellence. There were a few issues but he handled them with ease and professionalism. I would highly recommend Sam for your project as he will get the job done!

We are lowering the height of our kitchen counter and have 4 metal bar stools that we needed shorter. We choose Porter Fabrication because of the great reviews. He cut 7 inches off the legs and re-footed them all. He even went an extra step and added a clear coat to the legs for extra protection. The work was perfect and quick! We will definitely use Porter Fabrication again for any metal work we will need done!
