FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically base my price depending on what services I will be performing, for example; Dog walking I would only charge $15 per hour and will typically fit into a one or two hour walk unless the owner requests more or the dogs cannot be walked together, however in the situation of walking a dog with no leash manners I will do some leash training with them for free, because no one likes being drug down the street. I charge $30 per dog for group training classes and there is no time limit on how long the classes can last. I charge $30 per hour for one or two dogs for private sessions and the sessions can range from basic obedience to behavior modification. For pet sitting, I'm pretty flexible as far as pay goes and usually let the owner make an offer and I'd then decide how reasonable it is depending mostly on time and distance I'd have to travel all together.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know the client and their dogs first so before any training or other services are done I'd arrange a meet and greet where we can all get to know one another. There we will go over pricing, problems they're having and would like for me to work on, scheduling, and anything else that'll come up. Once I start working with the client I am patient, understanding, professional, I am willing to work with them to make them more comfortable and am open to any types of training methods, but most of all I work at the pace the dog is comfortable with so I urge my clients to understand that some types of training does take time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am graduated from ABC (Animal Behavior College) and received my certification to be a dog trainer. I will continue my education by taking up apprenticeships with other trainers, taking classes to further my knowledge on bog behavior, and chasing my dream to rehabilitate shelter dogs, in turn, using their success to rehabilitate people. I volunteer at the local SPCA and Animal Control Center for training shelter dogs to make them more adoptable, teaching obedience classes for funraisers, and helping out in the spay/neuter clinics
