If your reading this review, your not sure if you should pick J Sullivan Photography. Hopefully my experience will convince you that you should definitely choose this photographer, you will not be dissappointed. James was EXCELLENT!! He responds immediately, is very professional, arrived on time, very attentive to our needs and ideas of how WE wanted our pictures. He made both of us feel very comfortable and he is just a really nice, genuine guy, that only cares about your happiness above making money. Most photographers are just out to make money 1st. James truly cares about his clients needs before the almighty dollar. Choosing him as our photographer was a great choice. His photo's of us were AWESOME! He followed us around wherever we wanted to go and captured so many precious memories. He is our GO TO guy for all our future photo needs. Thanks sooo much James!

James was an excellent photographer to work with, a rare combination of professional and easygoing. He took our engagement photos at Olana, and although he had never photographed there, it was clear to us that he had put in time to research good spots to shoot. Both personable and thoughtful, he helped us feel at ease to capture candid-style photographs. And, most importantly, the photos came out great! Would recommend!

James was great to work with! My husband and I did a maternity photo shoot session with James in Washington Park in Albany while the tulips were in bloom and could not have been happier with the experience. We are both camera shy and don't like being photographed, but James still managed to capture many beautiful images that will remind us of this special time in our lives for years to come. We would absolutely recommend him!

I got James to take my senior pictures with my friend and it went very smoothly. We aren't very good with photos and James helped us make our shoot as natural as possible. I would recommend him to my friends if they need a photographer.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After being hired by a new client I like to sit or talk with them prior to the shoot. This unrushed time is useful for building trust, and communicating the vision for the session.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
This career began as a hobby. I've loved photography since I was in high school, 15 years ago. I started shooting concerts and noticed that I loved to capture candid moments if a very public setting. My portrait style has evolved from there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all type of clients: pregnant moms, engaged couples, a husband or wife surprising their spouse, famous bands, and widely publicized events.
