Ward A.Aug 20, 2018VerifiedSt. Clair Furniture Refinishers and Upholstery/ Venetian Plaster's reply
Ward why did you give us a one star review.
St. Clair was punctual, efficient, and completed the job within a few hours. They assessed multiple pieces, and provided excellent service estimating cost of replacement or cost of repair. The price was more than reasonable. We are completely satisfied with the service they provided, and would highly recommend St. Clair.Mar 28, 2018VerifiedSt. Clair Furniture Refinishers and Upholstery/ Venetian Plaster's reply
April, Thank you for the nice review. It was nice to meet you.
Due to unexpected illness, they got behind in their work. Since we weren't in a hurry, this didn't bother us. The credenza that they refinished came out better than we expected. We will definitely use them again for other jobs.Nov 1, 2017VerifiedSt. Clair Furniture Refinishers and Upholstery/ Venetian Plaster's reply
Thanks Ileana for the great reciew, it was a a privilege to restore your piece.
Replaced veneer on a 130 year old oak table. Did some other repairs as well. Also replaced veneer on the table leaves. Table top and leaves look new. Took great care when transporting the table to and from my house. Responded immediately to inquires about the status of the project. Show a real love for restoration of antique furniture. Take their time and do the job right. Highly recommend.Sep 17, 2017Verified
Jim and Barbara St Clair were wonderful to work with, creative, intelligent, and really know their stuff. They refinished the Mexican Rosewood on two spectacular mid-century modern chairs and matching ottoman, plus replaced the leather seats, cushions, and backs. They were very careful to renovate these pieces beautifully. And my painted Mexican folk art giraffe, too! Will use them again, for sure.Jan 26, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Prices are often determine by the piece. Due to type of finish and if there are any repairs. For interior painting we charge per sqft. Trim and window, and door jams are priced per ft.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?A lot of conversation to determine what the customer wants and needs done. Answering questions till the customer is satisfied and comfortable with what will take place with their piece.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I do look to add services , such repair and the duplicating of various furniture parts. Sailboat restoration. Rare and unique items. We have added Venetian plaster finish for walls, and antique restoration. We recently refinished a 100year-old long leaf pine flooring. And also had the privilege of working on the restoration of the Hawkeye Bar and Grill restoration at the Otesaga hotel and resort in Cooperstown, N.Y.
