Val is so pleasant to work with and has a great sense of humor along with excellently tending to what you want her to help you with. Scheduling is always easy and she goes about teaching in a way specific to the way you will understand it. As well as feeling like you're learning, you feel as if you're working with a friend.Mar 3, 2015Verified

Elena came to me as a fairly well-know pop singer. Her range has grown tremendously and she has really grasped the technique. I'm so proud of her and admire her dedication! I look forward to continuing work with her to see where it will all go!
Valerie is incredible. I am still amazed at how much I learned in the ten days that I worked with her, and I am so grateful that I was given that opportunity.Nov 5, 2019
Valeria helped me pick up a repertoire for Lotte Lenya competition. We worked with musical genre songs, opera arias. Songs by Kurt Weill. She also helped to find the right repertoire for musicals and opera according to my voice type. We also worked a lot with the voice technique to help fix up the registry. Valeria is a professional educator and also very kind person.Feb 8, 2019
Valerie Girard is an excellent voice teacher. She had a successful operatic career and has a wonderful voice. She is knowledgeable about the opera and oratorio repertoire. She understands how the voice works. She hears and sees what the student needs to improve and designs her vocal exercises accordingly. She can help any level of singer to improve his or her vocal technique. I enjoy working with her.May 3, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I prefer to teach a one hour lesson. If a student can’t afford my normal fee, we can discuss it. I do charge if lessons aren’t cancelled with 24 hr notice (unless there’s an emergency).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First I ask every student to bring a song or aria to sing at your first lesson so that I get a sense of where you are vocally and musically. We then work on vocal exercises and technique. The rest of the lesson is spent on singing your music and immediately start applying the new technique.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? The Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, New England Conservatory of Music, HB Acting Studio, The Goldovsky Institute. Private study with Felix Knight, Jennie Tourel, Frederick Jagel, Viviane Mordo.
