Compassionate Reach
About
I have many years of both personal and professional experienced in grief, trauma, loss, and spiritual formation, as well as marriage and family; everything from identity issues from eating disorders or post-abortion shame, maternal loss and international crisis.
I can empathize and relate to individuals; especially women, who are struggling with identity issues, or works based spirituality.
I understand first-hand infant loss and the long path of grief. I love my work because I have the honor of helping others heal from the inside out, and find their God-given purpose in life.

Before I left for Iraq, I made the commitment to talk to a professional and go into marriage counseling when I got back. After my deployment, I came home anxious and seething with anger and grief but I didn't trust anybody and I didn't want my husband to know how deeply depressed and suicidal I really was. I didn't want anybody to know! God provided Jamie for me to talk to and learn from--not just for help processing my deployment. She helped build on what knowledge I had about salvation, God's grace, anger, stress, stress management techniques, and temperament. She really helped me identify my stressors and our sessions gave me hope that I would get past where I was when we met. I have. I've even found my voice to talk about my experiences. It's been a journey of discovering God's grace and learning about His forgiveness and love for others--especially those with whom He does not have a relationship. A stronger, healthier me has strengthened my marriage and ability to be a good mom. My husband and I both attended the Bible Study Jamie Grubb and her husband established to foster a mentoring relationship between couples that have been married for different lengths of time. My two most important take-aways from that was how to actively listen to my husband and how to recognize my husband's communication style. Thanks to that class with Jamie and her husband, my husband and I don't stew very long and we resolve our conflicts VERY quickly--sometimes before they start!--because we have been equipped with the knowledge of how to communicate with each other effectively in a language the other understands. Also, because of that class, wherever my husband and I move we find another more experienced couple from which to learn. Thank you Jamie and Dave, for setting such great precedents for my family and for answering the Lord's call on your life. You really helped us in a very challenging time and now you know: You continue to help us today!

"Compassion" is Jamie's middle name. Her care is excellent, gentle but not sentimental. She brings with her years of experience in trauma recovery, stemming from her own events. Her training is highly specialized, but almost imperceptible. What you will notice with Jamie is her attention to your heart. And that's why I highly recommend Jamie Grubb for any grief and trauma recovery, disaster relief, and counseling.
