In brought my laptop into this place because it had a problem with the screen display and the fan wasn't working right. I spoke to a guy named Javier. He told me that it would cost $50.00 to see what the problem was, and he would call me BEFORE he did anything to the laptop after he found out what was wrong with it. I brought the laptop to him on a Monday. I tried to call and text the next day to find out if he found the problems. He didn't answer me until Wednesday. When he did, he told me he was running a "diagnostic" to see what the problem was. Javier called me again Thursday morning to tell me he replaced the "hard drive" because that was causing the problem with the screen. But also said that he couldn't diagnose the problem with the fan. He never called me to tell me about replacing the hard drive. When I asked him how much he would be charging me, he told me it would be $150.00. He told me that he would have the laptop ready for me to pick up that afternoon and that he would call me. Javier didn't call me until that evening and told me to come in Friday morning after 10:30 am to pick up my laptop. When I get to the store at 11:30 am, Javier isn't there. I ask for my laptop. The person that was there couldn't find it, so he calls Javier on the phone. Javier doesn't seem to know where he put it. It took the guy that was there 20 minutes to locate the laptop. But he was ready to give the laptop to me without the charger. Again, he calls Javier on the phone. He goes into the back of the store, locates the charger and hands it to me. I then paid the guy $150.00 cash and left the store. All the while I was there, the guy behind the counter was looking at me with a blank stare on his face as if I was asking for something I didn't deserve. Javier says he changed the hard drive. But it doesn't look like he did. In fact, all of my files and apps are still in the laptop. IF he changed the hard drive, at least some of the files and apps would be gone and need to be reinstalled. My advice? Stay clear of JK Techs. They don't even have the courtesy to give you a receipt for the work they did or what you paid for.
