My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have private yoga instruction with Amy Soucy of Resonant Heart Yoga in our home for over three years. Amy has a keen perception of our abilities and needs. She always welcomes requests for specific poses and areas in need of special attention. Amy has a wonderful ability to create a safe and peaceful atmosphere where we can get in touch with our bodies and ourselves, and just be for a little while. And we seem to have quite a few laughs as well. Highly recommended!May 13, 2019
Amy Soucy is an incredibly talented and knowledgeable yoga teacher, but that only scratches the surface. Her secret sauce is her connection to her clients: Gentle, supportive, encouraging, deeply empathic. That, in my opinion, is the power of her private yoga sessions that I have used to help with everything from chronic pain and sports injury to stress and anxiety. I encourage anyone thinking of taking some private yoga sessions to get in touch with Amy! She is fantastic.May 6, 2019Resonant Heart Yoga's reply
Thank you, dear, amazing Sharon! I'm lucky to have clients like you :)
I just wanted to take this occasion to let you know how deeply I loved your class today and every day. Your classes are so different from other yoga classes, in a way I find transformative both of the way I practice and think about yoga and the way I move (and breathe) more generally. I also appreciate the fact that each of your classes is different from the one that came before, in a way that always feels exploratory and profoundly enriching. I know I am not alone in feeling this way, and I hope that you would never feel that you need to offer a more “typical” yoga class...Thank you for your teaching and your luminous presence! – Joanna S.May 6, 2019Resonant Heart Yoga's reply
Thank you so much, Joanna!
Amy combines a deep knowledge of yoga with effective mindfulness techniques. She skillfully and sensitively customizes sessions for folks with a wide range of issues. I felt as if she immediately zoned in in what I needed to develop a yoga practice that can work for me. I highly recommend Resonant Heart Yoga!May 11, 2019
Private Yoga Instruction
Amy brought all her equipment and expertise to a corporate wellness event of ours and held an hour-long session with several beginners and participants at other levels. The feedback was great from our team. Will definitely be looking for opportunities to work with her again.Jul 1, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?*I offer a ‘New Student Startup’ package of 3 sessions to get us up and running. The 1st session includes an additional 15-min consultation to discuss your personal history and wellness-related goals. After those 3 sessions, I offer monthly packages and/or a 10-week program depending on your needs. I see students in New York City AND the Hudson Valley, so my rates are dependent on your location. *For one-on-one and couples only. Ask me about group private sessions!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I invite every new client to hop on a free intro call so we can talk about your needs & goals. From there, I offer a package for new clients that includes 3 private sessions. The 1st session includes an additional 15 minute consultation that allows us to co-create the perfect, individualized plan for YOU! Once we've established that we will continue working together, I offer monthly packages and/or a 10-week program depending on your needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have extensive training (and teaching certificates) in both the Integral (2005-2007) and Anusara methods of hatha yoga (2007-2012). I am also a certified children's yoga teacher (K-12). I've continued my professional development with trainings in trauma-informed yoga, restorative yoga, anatomy, and therapeutic ballwork (myofascial release). I devote a lot of time to studying a range of movement modalities that complement and enhance my teaching – amazing awareness-building practices like Feldenkrais, functional movement (MovNat), Qi Gong, Contact Improv, and Continuum. I'm also trained to teach mindfulness, and have a longtime personal practice of Vipassana meditation (as taught by S.N. Goenka) I'm committed to offering accessible and transformative yoga and conscious movement to students at all levels.
