FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a child my father would challenge us daily solving math problems. My grandmother, my mother, and my cousin were all teachers and they all had fond stories of their careers. I wanted to be part of that experience with mathematics, a subject I found interesting and challenging.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most students need help with Algebra 1. However it seems most of my recent jobs are college students who need help with basic arithmetic skills while they are studying their college math classes. Students at the middle school level are also trying to learn these basic skills which are needed for every math class in succession. Clarifying these concepts lowers a student's anxiety level about learning math. Allowing studemts to questions is extremely helpful to the student. Answering their questions about basic arithmetic skills builds confidence and provides relief to the student. Teaching fundamentals of math will help students succeed in higher level math classes.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you know your child is experiencing difficulty in understanding the math in class or in preparation for ACT/SAT, please get a tutor immediately so that the student does not become more confused.
