Introduction: Percussive Finger-style Acoustic Guitar (what a mouthful...I call it "Drifting," check out the song by the same name by Andy Mckee on Youtube) encompasses a mixture of techniques found in classical, flamenco and modern guitar. It produces a beautiful, unique result that sets it apart from "chord chug" styles. It's music, and I am a lifelong musician and love teaching and learning. What's not to love?

Jesse was absolutely amazing for my wedding. We were married in upstate New York at one of the national parks there, and really wanted an outdoor ceremony and a nice rendition of our song (Hello I'm In Delaware by City&Color) for that. Jesse learned the song in days and his playing is absolutely beautiful. He also had to contend with the weather which was monsooning right up to the start of the ceremony. I was so preoccupied with willing it to stop raining that I completely forgot about instructing or worrying about the music. Thankfully he took care of everything and was ready and playing before the rain had fully stopped. I cannot express how beautiful his playing is and how nice it was to not even have to worry about that one part of the event! All of our guests requested his information during the cocktail hour, and just loved the ambiance he set. He's also a huge bargain compared to other wedding musicians. You get a lot of bang for your buck! Would definitely recommend him!

Jesse played a solo set at my wedding. He absolutely did a great job and added a very memorable moment for my wife and me.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a lifelong student-I currently work with a private voice instructor in Vestal weekly. I also continue to write, working on my first solo album. That is an education in and of itself.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My ma asked me when I was 8 what instrument I wanted to take. I wanted to take violin. The teacher would only take 9 year olds-imagine that! So I chose guitar, and through the best teacher and person in the world, began the journey. As for saxophone, I listened to Clarence Clemons' solo with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in "Jungleland" when I was in 5th grade. That was it for me.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure who you hire for an event or a teacher is someone you'd be comfortable having a drink with. Hey, that sounds like a good idea...
