Introduction: I believe that everyone can make tasty, healthy food in their own home kitchen. But sometimes life gets in the way. Maybe you’re new to cooking and don’t know where to start. Or maybe you’re an experienced cook, looking for a little inspiration. Whatever your unique situation is, I'm here to help you bring your home cooking to the next level with personalized, 1-on-1 instruction. Hope to cook with you soon! ____________________________________________________________________________ Having worked in all parts of the restaurant industry, I am a longtime lover of great food, friendly service and great shared experiences. My services include private cooking lessons for 1-6 people. I have experience in a wide variety of cuisines, but my passion is to make healthy, seasonal food straight from the farmer's market. I always work with fresh ingredients, and try to keep my menus as seasonal as possible. I have special training in vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free cooking, so if you have any allergies or food aversions I'll have your back. I provide custom service for all of my clients. Together, we will create a lesson plan based on your palate and needs. My lessons are laid-back and hands-on, and focus on learning techniques that you can use over and over again with different ingredients, rather than just following recipes. I love to cook! Cooking and sharing food are an important part of a healthy, happy and balanced lifestyle, and it's important to me to share those gifts with others. What I love about working 1-on-1 with clients is that everyone has a slightly different taste and a slightly different style, so no two lessons are the same. I am constantly learning new things through my work.

Private Cooking Lessons

Working with Dianne was everything I was looking for and so much more! Our next private lesson is already scheduled and was before she even left my home. I was looking for general private cooking lessons and she was a fabulous instructor. She made things easy to understand and even enjoyable (this is huge coming from someone who has A LOT of anxiety around cooking!) I’m looking forward to building upon what I learned during our 3.5 hour class and continuing this journey.

Private Cooking Lessons

We had the best time! Dianne was so easy to communicate with, she talked me through the whole process of a private lesson. She was always professional, and detailed so I knew what to expect, and could be prepared for the day. ( I'm a beginner, and my boyfriend has more experience cooking. So she worked with both of us and helped us learn according to our skill levels) which I thought was great. I chose a vegan 101 lesson, then selected from a list, different menu options and customized the menu to be perfect for us. 😊 We made a delicious soup, salad with home made dressing, tofu, potatoes and strawberry shortcake on homemade biscuits, with coconut cream!! It was absolutely delicious, and everything I wanted in a private cooking lesson. The next day, I was more confident while in the kitchen. She taught me alot of little tricks that are helpful when prepping and cooking. We're already talking about asking Dianne to come over for meal prep lessons, because she's not just a great chef, but a great teacher and also, really awesome person.

Private Cooking Lessons

I had a great experience yesterday with my cooking class with Dianne. She was great to work with and the menu was fantastic and the food was soooo delicious. Even though I've cooked for 40 years, I still learned so much. I really appreciated all that I took away from our session yesterday. Can't wait for our next session!

Private Cooking Lessons

Working with Dianne was a pleasure from the start. She took time to talk to me to learn about my event and her organization made it very easy to plan. It was also evident that her organization made for a smooth, enjoyable, and fun cooking party. She arrived right on time with every detail thought out and ready to execute, from the perfectly choreographed order of cooking to ensure every component of our 3 course meal would be cooked and ready within our time frame, to the delicious snacks she provided for us to enjoy while cooking, and the way she planned to manage the kitchen space. Dianne had a great way of allowing us to have fun and be silly, while also teaching new skills and imparting lots of cooking knowledge. It was especially easy to enjoy the party because she worked with me to ensure the price fit into my budget. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, and left VERY full and satisfied. I HIGHLY recommend Dianne to anyone looking to plan a cooking party.

Personal Chef

We loved the evening- Dianne was super helpful, efficient, and made everything go smoothly. The food was delicious!! She went the extra mile labeling and neatly storing the leftovers! She was professional, prompt, easy to work with, and planned as well as executed an incredible menu really attuned to my taste and requests. Can not recommend Dianne enough!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All of our cooking classes are completely customized to your interests and run about 2 hours long. We can do in-person classes in the NYC area and remote classes anywhere. For a single class, we charge $200 for 1 person and $75 for each additional person (max 6 people). This is recommended for small parties or if you are gifting a class to someone. For a 3-class series we charge $500 for 1 person and $750 for 2 people (max 2 people). This is recommended for those who would like to really improve their cooking with a few classes that build on each other.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, I will have a quick discussion with you via call or email about your likes and dislikes, if you have any allergies, and what your goals are. This will help me design a menu tailored to what you really want. Then, I will write a menu proposal for you to approve. I will write a list of groceries and equipment for you to make sure you have before the lesson. During the lesson itself, we will make 2-3 dishes over about 2 hours together, focusing on knife skills, instincts and classic cooking techniques. At the end we debrief and I answer any and all questions you may have, leaving you with great recipes and new knowledge. For class series, I may leave you with some homework for the next class.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked in restaurants since I was eighteen, both in the front of house and back of house. More recently, I attended the Natural Gourmet Institute for a health and culinary degree, where I also helped teach classes. The combination of on-the-job and accredited training, as well as working with many amazing chefs, has taught me a lot - not just about cooking, but about how to work efficiently, plan ahead, and adjust recipes to my own taste or the tastes of my clients. I use these skills both at work and at home and hope to share them with you!
