Introduction: Based in Brooklyn, NY, School of Music in Z Major is not like other music schools. With Music in Z Major our students learn more than just notes on a page - they learn musicianship, music history, and experience additional instruments other than their own. We give a recital twice a year and we have quarterly Music Skills Assessments to ensure that our students are progressing and learning. Our instructors are of top quality and musicianship with university masters degrees and doctorate degrees in music. Our instructors also participate in routine professional development so that we are always growing and learning how we can teach better for our students. Music lessons are exceptionally individualized for each student. We provide each student the opportunity to find their passion, to understand who they are as an individual and as a musician, and to create a sense of community within my music studio family. Not only do we give students the tools they need to succeed musically, but most importantly, the tools they need to succeed in life. We teach our students to be the best musicians they can be and to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. Abilities vary among each individual and we take the time and patience to understand and teach every student that comes our way. School of Music in Z Major currently offers private lessons both in-person and remotely via Zoom. We accept students all of levels from beginner to advanced and all ages from 3 years and up. I haven’t been able to start my lessons due to an injury to my hand, but things have been excellent as far as communication thus far! I’m looking forward to getting started!

Cello Lessons

Zydae is a great teacher! She’s very thorough and patient with me as a new adult cello learner. The lesson plans and after lesson notes are very detailed and she is very professional! She’s also very nice and easy to work with. Would def recommend her for lessons!

Cello Lessons

I contacted them even though I am a couple months from starting lessons. They answered my questions and gave me some great advice even though I am not yet a student. Fantastic customer service!

Piano Lessons

Camille at the School of Music in Z Major has been incredible. I truly believe everyone will benefit from this school, whether they’re just starting piano or they’ve been playing for a long time. In just 2 lessons, I feel like I’ve learned so much. I can’t wait to continue my time with them and I fully recommend them to anyone who’s looking to start or brush up on piano skills.

Piano Lessons

Zydae is professional, thorough, consistent and a pleasure to work with. My daughter loves interacting with Zydae, and my daughter's skills have steadily improved since starting piano lessons with her.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

The finer things in life should be available for everyone, regardless of their financial background and capabilities. This is why we work with all of our students and families to find the right price for them. There is a Music in Z Major scholarship that is simple and easy to apply for. There is a COVID-19 discount package that is simple and easy to apply for. There are lesson package discounts that do not require an application - simply sign up for an 8-lesson package or 13-lesson package and receive an automatic discount.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We first begin by scheduling a free initial consultation via Zoom. During this meeting, we discuss the student's goals for music lessons, purchasing an instrument, purchasing music books, and answering any questions that the student has about lessons.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my teaching license for K-12 music and my master's in music teacher education. My instructors have various degrees all pertaining to music.
